Downtown Battle Mountain 1 & 2 are their only albums that ever clicked with me, the other 2 are just meh imo
dbm 1 had good ideas, but it's very generic and jonny craig is overwhelming at a lot of points, their self titled is by far their most cohesive, well written record
this one is really good for the most part, but it pitters out towards the end and reaches dbm1 status of enjoyable genericism
dbm2 has some good songs, but overall that album is a fucking joke

Yeah, I think I'd like this album a lot more if Mess was on it. I love that bonus track on DBM2 where Wil and Mess go back and forth at the end.
I met Wil this past summer, he is the fucking man. Such a genuinely nice dude.
