It's average post-hardcore. I struggle to stay attentive or find anything startlingly interesting. Personal preference, I suppose.

Fair enough. Though don't the infectious melodies make you tingle inside? Like on tracks, Churches and Serial Killers, In Shallow Seas We Sail etc etc.

I heard infectious melodies already from Emery. Can you honestly testify to this being hugely different from their earlier work (I'm Only A Man exempt)?

Though this album just has so much more to offer, and is much more diverse then what they have previously delivered.

Cutthorat Collapse still rules (as do the songs that were on the EP) but idk...album's just not all that and a bag of chips like I thought it'd be.

And shut it Caleb The Question rules face.

I don't attach this album to a major event in my life so yeah...I mean it's still a solid, enjoyable album though.

Brent's 'The Question' is to '...In Shallow Seas We Sail' as my 'Cities' is to 'New Surrender'.

Not bad by any means, but not associational nostalgically. Have I got that right?

Y'know every time I see a picture of that album cover I think the white circle is a thought bubble from the guy

plummeting into the water.

And yes Caleb you hit the nail on the head pretty much.

This this this.

Yes, I'm aware that I rated The Question a 5, while I've given bands like Thrice, Brand New, Radiohead, and The Mars Volta mere 4.5's. DEAL WITH IT.

Easily one of the best post-hardcore albums this year. I just can't decide which Emery album I like the best. Besides "I'm Only a Man," all of their albums are top notch.

If listening to "IOAM" is like the common cold, I'd rather just not be sick..

"IOAM" is pretty much forgettable. Certainly not horrible, just nothing stands out.

But this album more than makes up for it.
