'Shiver through Kandy is just…. Unacceptably amazing.' (2). I love Even It Out also.
'Sounds like her classic sound - more Silent Shout/ST than Plunge.'
Hmm maybe... honestly think it's an amalgamation of the two / is pulling from both quite nicely. There's definitely a strong SS energy from parts of it though, fair enough

I dunno, I think the new album is the most accessible work I've heard from the Knife or Fever Ray that is also just consistently great. Like the closest I can think of is Deep Cuts but Radical is higher quality.

There's always a few tracks I don't enjoy from a Fever Ray or Knife release, and I think that's ok, like I think it's supposed to be a little extreme and I respect that. But everything on Radical is just beautiful

This is more of a grower, for sure. Silent Shout seems like it'd be pretty immediate. And yeah, I like Deep Cuts but there's definitely no comparison in the quality stakes...
a pretty radical difference you might say

Yeah I think Radical might be a 5 tbh, I don't want to jump the gun but it's just that good. I'm amazed they could create something that appeals to someone as conventional as me, yet also satisfy people with more bold and brave tastes, it's just astounding

I know others are calling different phases but it really does remind the most of Deep Cuts, just perfected

Yeah, I need to stop playing it, lol. Forced myself to throw the new Weval on as I don't want to wear it out so soon. It is very addictive.

liking the new one much more than plunge, shiver and kandy are exceptional

I like Plunge, but yeah Radical is quite handily superior already

yeah, I really liked about half of 'Plunge' and the rest was a bit more take or leave

Can’t wait to listen to it at work like 8 times in a row today

I am in love. all the singles sound way better in album context as well - particularly What they call us
|
| |
^agreed. The singles actually had me a bit worried. What they call us was just a bit too much of a generic silent shout era knife track and didn’t really go anywhere, and carbon dioxide just sounded like another plunge track. Kandy kind of quelled the fears a bit and then the context of the album made the other two singles work better as well.
