Well Balls, I have to say that my mind has changed quite a bit about this album. Alot of off-the-wall kind of stuff you don't hear until a 3rd or 4th time through.

Decibel, Revolver, and most likely Terrorizer enjoys this album quite a bit so all my ranting is unnecessary. Nice to hear Wizard, the army is growing.

i'll be disappointed if the new necrophagist album doesn't completely blow this out of the water... it's decent though. definitely a lot of interesting ideas and some pretty decent riffs. it's kinda hard not to compare this band to necrophagist. muenzner's leads sound a bit watered down, especially when juxtaposed to his stuff in epitaph. grossman appears to have gotten better, but something about the drum sound on this album bothers me. i still don't really know how i feel about the bass, but it'd be hard to say that a lot of the parts aren't impressive. the growls are actually pretty good if you ask me. kummerer sounds an awful lot like fridén from in flames at times, which is kind of cool, seeing as i have a certain predilection for that style of vocals. despite having its share of dull moments, cosmogenesis is pretty impressive.

Impressive...? I'd go as so far as to saying ear shredding!
Whilst it's very early to be saying album of the year, i'd be extremely suprised if it didn't make a lot of top tens. I read someone say that its a watered down amalgamation of a few different bands, really i'd saying it was closer to Necrophagist that most of them especially in terms of the lead guitar work.
The bass is what does it for me. I know alot of people arn't sold on the bass sound in this album but i love it, gives it a more fusion-y vibe, some of the slides (im not a bass player so i don't know the actual term) sound cool and add to allround sound (Incarnated in particlur).
All in all an excellent album but lets hold off on the album of the year buzz until a little further into the year aye.This Message Edited On 03.03.09

I had forgot about this review until the vocalist from Believer name-dropped them in his interview. I checked out the album and I really like it. Much like Balls, though, I've never heard any of these other tech-death bands that were mentioned through out the comments.

Trust me, I never really dug Isis or post-metal for that matter but their new album just blew me away. It's very melodic and spacey, much different than the rest i've heard. Amazing vocals, well the cleans are terrific and the harsh are still good. Get it man.
