This album gets better on every listen! I just want to explode when Metatron comes on, then Ilyena, THEN CAVALATESS, and like, oh my god, every other amazing song on this album. Will never be as good as Deloused or Frances, but its a bit better than Amputechture, just, buy it...

Loving this. Not quite as good as Frances, will have to listen to Deloused again to see which is better. This album surprisingly, isn't that hard of a listen for me, while the other two I have are at times.
Goliath rules.

Werd...it got me into them and i love it and all...don't get me wrong...it's their only album that i don't find myself jst throwing on at given intervals just to listen to it...maybe it's because i listened to it wayyy too much in my time but i just like their other releases a lot more...

I think this is a great album, but the vocals on this one take some getting used to, I prefer De-loused and Amputechture more, but none the less its an amazing album, except the slow songs, and the bonus cover of back against the wall is pretty horrible. The Mars Volta convering The Circle Jerks was a bad idea.

Sorry, but this is a bit of a rubbish review. Why do swear so much? You don't really have to do this. Actually, scrath that. Apart from that it was a solid review. Can't get into the album much though: favourites are 'Goliath', 'Wax Simulacra' and 'Aberinkula'.

I love this album. I put it just below Frances the Mute and just above De-Loused.
Askepios is the only song I dislike. Tourniquet Man is boring but creepy and solid enough to be decent. Cavalettas has a spectacular dissonant riff in the chorus, Ouroboros is energetic beyond belief, and Soothsayer gives me chills, especially in the beautiful transition from verse to chorus.
Aberinkula and Goliath are the standout tracks for me.

Weird I forgot to rank this back in January. Decent album. Has some sick tracks, "Goliath" being the individual best TMV track since "Frances the Mute." Man I want the old days back
