Yeah, why are we even talking about that anymore? This album shows that JFAC have moved away and have become a straight up Death Metal band.

They were tight and heavy as hell at Download.
I wish people would stop connecting JFAC to the "trendy" kids who listen to the band to appear hardcore.
a) Scene kids are retarded.
b) Genesis is a quality album, shows just how much potential each member of this band possesses.
c) I agree with hottiebassplayer, so should you.

NO, this album is a transition between death metal and metalcore. I will seriously give anyone who brings up the whole genre thing an internet slap. THERE IS NO one answer, come to realize that.

I'm not a JFAC hater, I actually like Doom a lot, but I don't see how this album deserves any higher than 2.5. I've listened to the cd a few times now and the songs sound so much alike from each other, I can barely tell them apart. Some of this cd is pretty cool, and then the rest just bores me. The guitar riffs are repetitive and not even that great.

End of story, thread closed.

Stop the arguing (or at least minimize it) about the genre and just vote on the review

2.5 isn't crappy, it's neutral. Unless this is the most tolerable release of the band for you in which case then I understand.

I voted, now stop telling me to stop arguing and start helping me shut this fool down, because he's wrong.

It is the most tolerable. I could rate it lower but when I compare it to Doom I think 2.5 is fitting... for now.

jfac used to be scene. and theyre like trying to leave the scene. they bree'd there way to the top and they cut their hair grew beards and got looser jeans. also on genesis there arent really breakdowns. its more progressive than there old stuff. i personally like there old stuff better but there still a good band to see live and theyll probably get better. they used to be the scenest band ever, up there with bring me the horizon, and now theyre just metal.
nice review by the way.

aka 'wannabe' Death Metal not all modern DM is wannabe... Behemoth (they're modern DM because they weren't DM until the turn of the century), The Faceless, Origin, and a whole mess of others are all great bands, they just show progression from what DM used to be.
JFAC is really only an "ok" band, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're wannabes.

It's not that they aren't "tr00 DM!", it's just that they're far from anything original and aren't anything that experienced listeners will care to listen to multiple times.
Barely death metal, heh,
