band gets a lot of hate these days (probably because their last two albums were mediocre at best), but this and As the Palaces Burn are two great slices of New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Hourglass owns, as does Omerta and The Faded Line.

good review, but i do believe the rating should be alittle higher. This is possibly their best album.

Josh D. - those are probably my three favorite songs, with Break You, What I've Become and Laid To Rest coming right afterwards. Which ones you got?

Each song individually is very good. All together it gets a bit stale.

Lamb of God is nowhere near as bad as so many people make them out to be. This album slays.

breakdown in Laid to Rest ftw. I could never get into Remorse, I was hoping it would be as epic as Vigil and I was always let down. I do love Blood of the Scribe though, as well as What I've Become.

maybe I'll give that part a listen when I get home, and I agree that the lyrics are pretty great. It's been a loooooong time since I've listened to this album.

"One Gun" is probably the worst on the album but that outro is magnificent.

I think ashes was an improvement from their earlier stuff whether it's the production or the overall structure/creation of the LOG sound. The songs seems to groove a little more.I thought the instrumental was great with the 4 guitar attack between morton, skolnick, poland and adler.
