It still bums me out that emo and screamo keep getting miss labeled to bands that totally aren't.
I thought that shit died down in the mid 2000s, but apparently ppl still do it. I had a co worker call Rise Against screamo last summer. It was good for a laugh.

Most people think screamo is shitty post-hardcore without realizing that it is an actual genre and not metal or punk or whatever that has harsh vocals. I just say skramz so I don't have to deal with the stupidity

The funny thing we were talking about their last album, Endgame, because of those two songs where he actually screams a little bit. He was suggesting I put it in the music rotation at work, and I said I couldn't because of the harsh vox (I have certain guidelines to follow when putting music in), and he responded with "you'd be surprised at the screamo crowd here in town."
And I just... I think I let it go, cause he was one of those ppl that would have just argued with me, regardless of if he knew or not.

Ha ha, exactly. I saw an interview that he did a while back that said they were supposedly going back to their punk stuff with more screaming with the next album.. Who knows if its true, tho. I actually haven't heard anything since then, and I feel like that was a while ago.
I love State of the Union. Song just rips.
