Nah, they have pretty much the perfect amount of recognition I would say.

I still try to listen to this once every few months to see if it grows on me, but it never does.

Just lacks the energy and passion of their other records, IMO

they havent really had much energy since Alligator. i guess Boxer could have a few tracks that could be considered energetic though, for National standards. thats pretty much my only complaint with the records after Alligator, i wish they slipped a couple songs in that actually rocked because theyre really good at that, and it would give their albums more dynamics.

Sad Songs and Alligator are their most energetic while HV is the least depressing.

This and Boxer are way more depressing than HV, which only has like two depressing songs really: Sorrow and something else, I can't remember.

i totally disagree, almost every song on High Violet is depressing. i find Boxer to be melancholy like all of their albums, but i dont think it has any songs that are straight up depressing.

The whole concept of Boxer is pretty depressing, mainly in the lyrics. Much of High Violet like England, Terrible Love, Bloodbuzz Ohio, Conversation 16 etc. is much more energetic, cathartic, and triumphant.

What"

Idk i find i should live in salt a bit uninteresting. Especially the vocal melody doesn't do much to me

'I need my girl' is the only really average song on this. Heavenfaced is flawed, could have been perfect.

No i need my girl is amazing. The guitar in that song is beautiful. I agree with you about heavenfaced. The first half of the song is incredible but it gets boring in the 2nd half

Are you serious? It's the best National song I've heard.
