i like meshuggah but most of their albums get pretty similar reception from me, so it doesn't mean as much as it would coming from other people

e; and by that i mean their entire discog is 3.5-4 for me

DEI is def the best

DEI is good, but I never understood why people here consider it their best. It's them halfway into finding out who they really are as a band. It's really technical, yeah, but they definitely didn't find their incredibly unique sound yet - it's just technical thrash (amazing technical thrash, but they didn't really invent a new genre yet). Even the lyrics are way more mature on their newer stuff.

And they've been my favorite band since they release Nothing back in 02. Their discography averages out to a 5 for me, one of maybe three bands in the world that do that for me.
