That's a good way to put it.

Also @Christbait yes when that stretch hit listening to the redo I was just like gd this is so good like this is the pinnacle of the album and you just know you've reached it when it goes

Not only the pinnacle of Catch-33 but I'd say the greatest stretch in their entire discog. Only other example that comes to mind is New Millennium -> Corridor of Chameleons -> Neurotica. But nothing eclipses that steady build-up, the massive payoff, and then that 13-minute epic. It's simply too good.

Remaster is pointless and adds nothing. Which kinda makes me happy that i don't need to rebuy it.

I'd feel like a sucker if I had grabbed this remaster. A little more low end and some of the effects work is a tad more noticeable, but that could also be me just making stuff up that I think I heard.

Remasters are pointless 99% of the time agreed.

Regardless of the remaster bringing nothing new to the table - this absolutely slaps, very fucking hard.

It's crazy how much of perfectionists these guys are. Remastered almost every record but I think the OGs all sound amazing (never jammed a remaster, still relatively new to the band). Debating if my next discog jam should be the remasters or stick w the originals

The only album that I truly believe benefitted from the remaster was Immutable because the enhanced low end really makes it thump. It's not across all songs, but it's distinct enough to where I would at least listen to that remaster if I were doing a discog run. The rest of their albums are fantastic as-is.

The Nothing remaster is essential - all the others, not so much.

haven't heard this one yet but i remember liking the obzen remaster a good amount but also kinda thought it sounded a lot closer to koloss/violent sleep than the original did.

the nothing remaster is its own thing entirely to me
