Holding Our Breath is very dreamy gaze, I guess somewhat more distinct songwriting than the s/t EP but not quite as much as this. “Shine” is one of their absolute best songs. Morningrise is similar though a bit noisier and also has one interesting kinda tribal ambient track. And both have a very prominent ambient pop/ethereal wave vibe as well (which Just For a Day also has). Edit: Sorry the tribal-ish track I was thinking of is on Holding Our Breath.
The 5 EP is pretty different, it’s their ambient techno moment. Very chill and nice. You might dig. Oh and it also has “Country Rain” which is basically the song that birthed Beach House.
Outside Your Room is weird, it has “Alison” and “Souvlaki Space Station” on it along with a song that’s basically an extended, less dubby/more ambient, instrumental version of Space Station and one other (great) original song with a heavy slowcore vibe.

But yeah for the other LPs JFAD is gorgeous ethereal dreamgaze, more overtly indebted to Cocteau Twins/other 80s dream pop than later stuff but still wonderful. Some people (@Johnny) aren’t as into it and I guess it’s a bit more forgettable than their other stuff but it’s well worth your time still.
Pygmalion is totally different, way more ambient/post-rock/ethereal wave and a bit of folk, hardly any shoegaze or conventional dream pop. Many prefer it to this these days and while I don’t, I adore it and I totally understand why it works better for many people.
The s/t LP is more based around modern dream pop/gaze tropes and production (though still some slightly less conventional post-rock/ambient pop moments). Also wonderful. Idk you really can’t go wrong with Slowdive.
