Well, none of those bands throws riffs like mad with no clear direction. Making their music boring.

Okay so what's with the hype on this one? I keep listening to it... It's just thrash with BM vocals and long songs. Nothing really gripping about it. Just a 3 for me.

Vektor managed to take all that's good with thrash metal and give it a spin of their own. No thrash metal album has ever sounded like this. They literally changed the genre and how it's looked at. This album is nothing less than groundbreaking.

Also, riffs. [2]

@Maco no clear direction? half of the songs have a pretty standard structure (with a bit longer intros and interludes maybe) and other half progresses through various passages accompanying the story, reaching the climax towards the end. after all, it is a conceptual, progressive album, so I'm not sure what do you mean with "no direction", it's basically the opposite.

I'm going to keep giving it chances, because I love when an album finally clicks. I'm just saying at this point, it's not doing it for me.

The key is to listen to Pillars of Sand with lyrics until you can sing along and then get real hammered and jam the rest.

I feel like most of the people who don't like this never listened to thrash before. They probably just rated this in a insignificant attempt to bring the average down because they want to be edgy like that.

Not in my case. I listen to a lot of thrash. Less now than what I did when I was younger, but I don't fuck around with my votes.

I grew up on thrash, and this band is basically the only modern thrash metal I like. there are a couple of underground exceptions, but nothing spectacular really. this shit is monumental.
