10,000 days is my favourite Tool album. Review is great, although I find it a little harsh. "Honestly, Maynard squeezing his cat was a more satisfying listening experience" is a personal highlight

shit like lipan conjuring and viginti tres could be cut out but lost keys and intension are fairly important tracks here imo

Yes, Rosetta and Right in Two need those as a sort of building up. Intension is a better song on its own though.

whole album just lacks balls, no way to make a good record out of it. Title track synchronised with the closer and "Wings 1" would have made a very strong EP/single but other than that I see no redemption for this.

The lyrics in Vicarious are so sharp. Glad they decided to switch it up and write about some real world issues here.

Rosetta Stoned is supposed to be funny Art. And yea it and Right in Two need build-ups, but it's the fact that they did include shit like lipan conjuring and viginti tres that accounts for five tracks of mostly much filler. Wings for Marie is basically a shortened version of the title track.

Rosetta Stoned is very self aware to me. But stuff like Vicarious and the title track are some of Maynard's best work.

Right in Two is the best song on this, for me at least

wings is overlong but i really dig the track. rosetta's lyrics are kinda funny indeed, my biggest complaint on the lyrics is right in two. intension is great build-up to a rather lackluster track

Agreed about Wings, and Right in Two is neither best nor worst on here in terms of music or lyrics for me, just a pretty great Tool song. I dig the hypnotic middle section building up to the heavy part especially.

There aren't any songs on this that match the greatness of Reflection, Third Eye, Pushit, Flood and such. The best songs on this are simply good and not great. And i'm not really sure why.

@Art Over Wings though? Cause man that shit drags, the title track would have the same amazing effect on me if it was cut honestly.

yeah i don't have anything against that track (apart from the fact that it is a bit overlong). rosetta stoned rules hard, it's obviously a pretty divisive track but i'm one of those who absolutely love it

Yea I love Rosetta Stoned as well. I'm always in the minority with Wings For Marie though. Title track is where it's at. I also do thing it's the one on here that measures up to stuff like Reflection and The Grudge.

I haven't listened to this in years either, but I still know the filler needs to be replaced with more music. That last track? Waste of album space.

Tool gladly throw in 15+ minutes of filler on every album just to fulfill their 80 minute runtime quota, except Lateralus which thankfully only had about 5 minutes.
