Troy did most of the early vocals. My favorite is probably Trainwreck when he does the low, raspy ones (afterglow, did not know).

Ah, he's done guest vox quite a few times for this band I see. That's cool

Usually performs on one song per album excluding remission. Blood mountain is mediocre but his part on crystal skull is amazing

I dug Cedric's vox on Siberian Divide too. Mastodon's guest vocalist tend to deliver on their tracks imo.

I was at a festival that had both Mastodon and Clutch so I was able to see Blood and Thunder with Neil Fallon. It was pretty rad.

The last half of The Last Baron rips so damn hard. Best ending this album could have had.

The Last Baron drags a lot. It's like a juicy steak, but there is more fat than there is steak. 'The Czar: I. Usurper II. Escape III. Martyr IV. Spiral' was better arranged. I compare the two because they are both the two longest tracks on here.

"there is more fat than there is steak"

except for that "there is more fat than there is steak" part.

Turns out I'm not a huge fan of these guys. I like Remission a lot though.

It's easily their sludgiest and riffiest, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't, Jac.

Hinds' vocals also hampers this song, at least for me.

Remission is a beast of an album. I've been jamming it the most of theirs over the last few months, along with Call.

Don't feel alone in that Jac, we were all like that at some point.

How does anyone give this a 2.0/5 and then review this?
