Yes, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. Madlib and DOOM have done more for Hip-Hop than Kendrick ever will.

DOOM is one of the best rappers ever. Jpegmafia is a bad rapper saved by his production. Madlib’s soul sample heavy sci fi psychedelia has nothing to do with JPEG’s post-death grips caustic-melodic glitch art pop shit. Heinous, agreed. Jpegmafia will never be one one hundredth of the rapper MF DOOM is, or many others, though he’s one of the few who could produce an album on this level. But given that the duties are split here and the rapper is MF DOOM, heinous. JPEGMAFIA is a rapper whose lyrical sins you apologize for unless you’re lame like he is

You could not be more reductive or willfully ignorant if you tried. They were singing his music at protests. For years, he was a symbol of black pride and solidarity. Literally no one asked him to make that record the way he did. It’s not tropey bs, it’s heartfelt and sincere and what he felt at the time. You could straw man any album with any kind of personal message the same way you have here. DOOM, Lib, and Kendrick all changed and IMPROVED hip hop in their own ways. It’s good that we get to appreciate them all.

So? Kendrick is still an overrated rapper whose only purpose is making award winning albums. Not only that, but the man is such a joke for taking the Pulitzer, what for? Because his songs are sang at protests? That's such a disrespectful thing to do, whereas actual journalist who put their lives at risk in order for them to cover actual news and shedding light to social events, get fucking nothing. Just like how fucking Bob Dylan won the Novel Peace Price for doing nothing.
