Yeah I definitely agree about there being so many gems in the past that are always out there to find
I still enjoy a good bit of what comes out these days though thankfully.

I didn't get around to Catharsis, intended to. I'll 're-add' them to the list.
they're kind of screwed up in the Sput database. I mean they have way more votes than the artist tagged as 'Catharsis' (some Belgian band with literally 1 vote / the notes say they released one demo, then broke up, lol) and there's also two American Catharsis's, this one is '(US)' with no state to differentiate it whereas the the other band says '(USA-CA)'. A bit of a mess. I don't know how to explain all this in the meds thread.
I'd guess we should do this...
Belgian band no-one cares about 'Catharsis (BE)'
Then the Catharsis we know of needs a state (North Carolina apparently) and an A adding so '(USA-NC)'
this should not be here, but I started / got carried away so here it is

lol i get it
you can just change band names yourself so theres no need to bother the meds directly
i think it might go into a queue so youll have to wait for them to approve it

oh shit yeah, I don't think this will require med intervention. I'm tired and a bit dense today, clearly!
what I have proposed seems like the way it should be done, so I'll edit them

personally i would make the catharsis we know (the most popular catharsis, i assume) just Catharsis

are there other examples of this? I assumed they all needed dividing up by country / area. I guess if one artist is by far the most known, it makes sense

yeah there are multiple bands called Death in the usa but the big one is just Death in the database
plenty of other examples but that came to my mind quickly. lots of metal bands with the same name, especially when its a short one word stereotypically metal name
|
| |
ye I think you have it correct Demon
|
| |
for Incubus one is cleasrly more well known but still with states

Yeah, that's a good example Mort. Cheers
I have made the proposed changes and presumably they should be approved, it's just if you were in charge of 'approvals' and didn't know Catharsis personally, you might wonder why I removed the 'US' bit - although hopefully due diligence is done if there are doubts. We'll see I guess.
I realise this all this sounds so frighteningly unimportant, but there you go.

oh, now we have a disagreement!
I briefly looked into the other artists and they are not seemingly well-known at all in comparison (but idk if that's accurate).

Catharsis's 2nd LP, Passion, is the main one that I know. It's fucking awesome.

Catharsis rules. I was always more of an undying fella tho. if you haven’t heard the band that James Chang is in now called Sect check it out. It’s a bit of a super group with nasty chainsaw guitars and Chris Colohan from Cursed/left for dead/burning love/every cool band ever on vox
