ngl I really think Cosmic is my favorite song, like ever.
I can’t get over how perfect it is, I’ve literally been listening to it every day. Along with looking at the vids I took of the song at the show and live recordings.
I haven’t been this obsessed with a song in years.

Like to the point where this record ain’t a 5 without it. I love every track on the album, even Easier has grown on me a lot. But man Cosmic really ties the whole thing together imo

Cosmic is the reason that this is a 5 confirmed.
Cosmic and Mattel are the two I return to most.
EDIT: I saw that I had not in fact 5’d this after posting this comment and have since rectified the issue

I could probably 5 this, especially considering how little metal I listen to that keeps me coming back like this does. Also, I'm still genuinely impressed that they pulled this off.

Same, I think Nobody is about the same quality too but I think I burnt myself out on it pre release

I’ve been debating 5ing this myself. It’s only got better with age.

Part of me wishes Cosmic had been the closer. It is such a statement song. I don't doubt that the tracklist was carefully selected, but it does feel like diminishing returns on the latter half of the record.

Yeah I felt that way for a while too, but the title track feels out of place anywhere other than being a closer. I’m good with looking at it as more of a centerpiece to the whole thing. It’s the longest track here by a decent margin. It certainly feels like the most grand and epic piece here. Just my 2 cents

i think it coulda worked between death and the title track. i had it there for a while. ultimately i do like it most where it is though

Coming off the outro to We Love You also just feels so right. Those opening chords hit hard

Odd take but this might be the second best thing they ever did next to City of Evil

i don't think they could've sequenced this album any better honestly.
cosmic is the center piece... and the god suite + t/t is the best way they could've ended the album. feels more thematically coherent that way
that being said, if i'm seeing the band live i am 10/10 taking cosmic over god as the show closer.

Not an odd take at all, I literally think it’s their best. But City of Evil is like my fifth favorite lol
And ya Alex completely agree, hope they close shows with it until the end of time
