it's fascinating to watch the band openly rejecting religion now after once being one of the biggest bands in christian rock/metal. they changed their spotify bio to say this:
"The band who once openly--and without apology--professed their faith-based worldview onstage nightly, have since moved beyond the realm of seemingly impenetrable polemics. At various junctures, Erase Me illustrates those moments of sanctuary, anxiety, betrayal and conflict that inevitably arise when humanity grapples with belief systems."
apparently Chris Dudley is the only one in the band who still considers himself a christian at this point.

source on the dudley thing? you can see the skepticism in the lyrics but i've always taken most of it to be a criticism of organized religion rather than christianity as a whole. not that i really care one way or another just curious, atheist here

I guess it's good that I'm not Christian then, because a lot of them are throwing a fit both in the Youtube comments and the Facebook comments

happens to a fair number of Christian bands honestly. the big surprise was that Aaron is in on it — when he left Underoath he basically formed a worship band.

The Christian facade gets tiring after a while. I've known so many dudes who were super into the Christian persona and lifestyle, before giving up on it by around their late 20s as they grew more hardened by life.
