I can see one finding Heavenfaced and I Need My Girl weak, however much I disagree, but Little Faith and Looking for Astronauts? Come on now. They still haven't made a song that sounds anything like Looking for Astronauts. It has such a unique structure, and that drumbeat...



I love Guest Room and Friend of Mine too obvs. All those songs are so much better than Lemonworld lol

Lemonworld is one of their best songs. I understand the band see it as a bit of a misfit, maybe from the inside they've lost perspective of just how well it works lol



Looking for Astronauts I find a little annoying and the others I mentioned are just built around second tier melodies to my ears, but personal taste and all that.



No National song on their last four albums I'd rate below a 3/5 which is just insanely consistent

Yeah i mean basically everyone says it but never gonna skip out on an opportunity to say that their run from Alligator-now is the best stretch of any band this generation and kinda cements them as the best band of the 2000's

Honestly for me every song is atleast a 4, and most I would give a straight 5
