This grew off of me after further listens, too much Roger wank, not enough Gilmour

If it wasn't for the interludes/theatrics that make me want to stab my eyes out, this would be a much better album.

this has nothing and I mean nuthin on Tommy or Quadrophenia. I mean, there are great songs here, but there is sea of filler that's only here to serve the lyrics and the story. But. Who gives two shits about the story? Or, better still, who LISTENS to MUSIC and places greater emphasis on the lyrics? Roger, my man, it's the sounds we care about. We want you to convey the story in your head with melodies, riffs etc. Lyrics are important, of course, but it seems Roger thought himself more as a writer and less as a musician here. Anyways, the best songs for me are
1) In The Flesh (both)
2) Another Brick In The Wall Part II
3) Mother
4) Goodbye Blue Sky
5) Young Lust
6)Hey You
7) Nobody's Home
8) Comfortably Numb (best song)
Not even the half of the album. And, mind you, I don't consider every single one of them unsurpassed classics. Oh well. The movie was good, I guess.
The unending critical praise of Wall simply kills me. IT REALLY DOES.
