My only complaint about the new album so far is the Neil Young cover, doesn't really feel necessary

i'm becoming concerned about the correlation between sufjan releasing great albums and sufjan experiencing indescribable personal tragedy

Not an uncommon phenomenon in art, but I'd obviously rather have OK music if it meant saving him the suffering :-(

The Neil Young cover is pretty amazing imo
The last three tracks I’m not so into so far, including Shit Talk, but that’ll hopefully change
I find the album near flawless until that point - Will Anybody Ever Love Me? and My Little Red Fox are instant Suffy classics

'Shit Talk' is the kind of song that would sound contrived and cheesy if just about anyone else attempted it, kind of like the 'Chicago' choir. But here and in context, it might actually be my early favorite.
I also really enjoy Will Anybody Ever Love Me & My Red Little Fox. People might be sleeping on Genuflecting Ghost, unless I'm the only one who adores that for some reason.
No issues with the Neil Young cover either. Like YoYo said perhaps not an essential moment, but I think it's a pretty little coda on the heels of Shit Talk.

^ Dude knows how to open an album, straight up. Concerning the UFO, Futile Devices, Death With Dignity, Flint. All classics. Goodbye Evergreen may well end up there as well, definitely an early favorite
