You really can't understand why people hated him making a song called "I am God" or "Black Skinhead"?
They are obvious pleas for attention by an artist that isn't able to attract it by his own musical
skill so he relies on being controversial to create publicity (gee I wonder why he said "GEORGE BUSH
HATES BLACK PEOPLE" and stole the Grammy from Taylor Swift right when his previous album released?).
Publicity and attention is all he needs (doesn't matter if its positive or people calling him an
idiot) to convince his fans hes good. Cuz all his music is about is 'damn haters just don't get me yo'
and his fanboys eat this up like they are winners for idolizing him in the face of controversy like
he's Micheal Jackson. In fact he calls himself Michael Jackson on this album, but the only thing they
have in common is zombies dancing to their music.

not really. you can dislike what you want, that's how musical taste works. a genre by definition encompasses certain musical conventions. might so happen that those specific musical conventions don't appeal to you.

Not really tho, that's why subgenres exist
Hating a subgenre is one thing but hating an umbrella genre tag is quite another, entirely

opinions are opinions, and just as my say on the issue: It's waaayyyy too early to make a comparison like this, MJ has been making music for what? 20 years? 30? He has a pretty large discog and a whole lot of stinkers along with the gold. K-West has only been relevant for 9 years in comparison, and the stuff he has out at the moment is relatively miniscule compared to MJ's discog. Time will have to decide on this one

"creativity & innovation"
Creativity, yes. But nothing Kanye has done so far has made any significant impact on today's pop in comparison to MJ.
|
| |
maybe because he isn't a pop artist ?_?

Kanye's not a pop artist like MJ was a pop artist, but he's for sure on the pop side of rap. Less so wit this album though. I'll give him credit there, even if I don't think it's to his favor.
