@Hans: If you said "first 3", I might agree with you.
Bass:
Burton > Bello > Araya > Ellefson
Drums:
'Deth's drummers > Benante > Lombardo > Ulrich
Riffs:
Mustaine > Hanneman & King > Ian = Hetfield
Leads:
'Deth's lead players > Spitz > Hanneman & King > Hammett
Vocals:
Belladonna > Araya > Hetfield > Mustaine
More or less, that's how it goes for me.

you left out the most important aspect that vaults Metallica above the others:
Songwriting. All the other bands are better musicians.
|
| |
I'm not too sure with the songwriting part, hence why I left it out.

lol I just looked that up and he auctioned off the old saw blade with an x-ray of his arm after the incident.
That's fucking hilarious.

As far as you know, is it true that on the last Metallica tour Cliff Burton was on before
he died, the band was planning on firing Lars Ulrich at the tour's end?
That's what Scott [Ian, Anthrax guitarist] told me. He said that when Metallica got home, that James,
Cliff and Kirk were going to fire Lars.

The drums were so poorly mastered on AJFA.

The drums were so poorly mastered on AJFA.
The WHOLE thing was poorly mastered. It sounded completely flat and there was no bass in addition to the awful clickly bass drum sound.
