Agreed. Meshuggah inspired a billion copycat bands and none of them touch meshuggah. 2nd place probably goes to animals as leaders but meshuggah is still a tier above them imo

The djent sound imo is based off of a few classic meshuggah riffs, and that sound is one tiny facet of their completely inimitable visionary style. I also have never considered them "djent" even if they are widely credited with inventing/pioneering the "genre".
