"if you get offended by a person of any color singing along to a song gleefully with nothing but posi vibes with lyrics that include nigga you need to check yourself, kendrick included"
You see a girl at a concert singing a song she likes with someone she admires, I see an imperialist oppressor holding the black man down with her seething hatred for people of color.

"he chooses a white girl to come up and sing a lyric in which he knows contains 'nigga' and then gets upset when she actually sings the lyric..
k."
Wow.
So does reading the word "nigger" in "To Kill a Mockingbird" make you racist as well? Jeez. If the word is in the context of art it should be exempt from judgement.

Kendrick is a misogynist
He targeted her out of the crowd to stir up controversy, setting her up for defame and humiliation
Shame on you kendrick
|
| |
tbh
where's ur intersectionality kendrick
|
| |
i mean its not THAT big of a deal
its a touchy a subject, its like a black empowerment thing, so I withhold judgement most of the time for these sorts of things

"white people being salty that they can't say nigga really does make me lol though"
thats like not at all whats going on with this frustrating social issue, its trivializing it so hard to the same effect as saying "black people getting bothered by the white people sayin nigga are professional victims"
|
| |
idk i really think that's all it is. ur gonna get frowned upon if you say it, especially onstage. that's all that kendrick was thinking when he did it, he's not perfect
and no one is considering the fact that she didn't just say it she full-chest belted that shit.
kenny's still petty but idgaf this is a small ordeal

in this scenario, the argument that using that word is insensitive because of its meaning is void, as its part of the lyrics and her intention is to literally just sing along with good vibes as chuck was saying. all that leaves is the fear of cultural appropriation of that word. and all that does is create a clearly defined wall between two cultures, white and black, and suggests that this boundary is de facto. if it offends people, thats super unfortunate but her intention wasn't to offend people, so making a big deal about it is just absolutely ridiculous. I doubt she went up there like "imma drop the n word so hard i cant fucking wait"
to give him the benefit of the doubt, I think Kendrick was put in a position where he had to say something because of the crowd mentality, they were audibly booing. worst case, he did this as a publicity stunt. realistically, he probably doesnt like white people using the word
