Ironically to me Disarm is one of the tracks where the feels-y thing works best.
Interesting you don’t like Silverfuck that much clay, aside from the “bang bang you’re dead” section that track is pretty great.

Alright well I just went on a beautful spring walk with this on the headphones turned up high...and everything clicked. Now I’m thinking this will almost definitely end up a 5. The cheese I was complaining about before is still there in spots but I’m realizing that Doof was right - that’s part of the appeal. Plus if you don’t pay attention to the lyrics you can ignore them pretty easily most of the time.

Glad to see the love for Soma through Mayo

Boney you've made me look back and remember that, apart from Cherub Rock, I too found this pretty underwhelming on the first few listens. Once it clicked it clicked HARD

The '90s summed up really, you can say it's too 'angsty' or 'teenaged' but it just has that uplifting side to it

Cherub Rock is one of my least faves, but that's just because most of the stuff that follows ends up setting the bar so fucking high

I just find Disarm a bit samey tbh, and Sweet Sweet is great, I'd probably rank it a bit higher if it wasn't so short imo.

Tag I love Sweet Sweet as it is - maybe a bit out of place but it works. The sort of Celtic sound is very nice.

Disarm is so out of place. Today and Mayonaise are poppy too but Disarm is just too soft, and might be more suited in Mellon Collie.

Interesting maybe that's why I don't like Disarm so much as I'm not really a fan of Melon Collie

I like the variety Disarm brings. The album is very well sequenced and a good balance of heavy rock, dreamy fuzziness, and simple ballads. The transition from the end of Rocket (probably the best 20 seconds of the whole album btw even if the rest of the track is one of the weaker songs) transitions into the acoustics of Disarm is such a great moment.
In all I’m enjoying this about as much as if not a bit more than the first disc of Mellon Collie, although if MC were condensed to its 14 best tracks that album might be better than this.

Billy's vocals are defo less annoying here than on Mellon Collie

So after that whole thing the other day Cherub Rock is now one of my favorites here. Funny how that happens.
