calling music that still feels relevant today 'old' is actually a compliment when you think about it

"Gen x really, but I don’t know if there’s a fun derogatory term for them"

thanks pots. did some research, if the hysterical right wing press is to be believed, we have been dubbed "karen generation" or the "baby busters". thankfully i don't think i've ever seen that EVER and i don't think it's a thing

Hmmmm…. Maybe elder gen x I can see that for but they are basically boomers. Any gen x I’ve met that is around 40 now has not been like that at all

Yeah karen gen = boomers for sure. I can’t speak for my Gen as a whole but i can say that the millennial circles i run with don’t lump Gen X in with boomers. You guys are like our slightly older amiable cousin that has different interests but with enough crossover for meaningful friendship

generational terms are kinda dumb though

Like I'm a millennial, but a person 1 year younger than me is Gen Z, do I really have more in common with someone 10 years older than me than 1 year younger?

The cut offs aren’t widely agreed upon anyway. The differences obviously happen when there’s more than a year or two of distance

Norma nailed it. Gen x siblings of friends, cousins, girlfriends and other such peers are responsible for introducing me to so much iconic media that was juuust so slightly out of my era
