Not a chance the 10s are stronger than the 00s. Plenty of amazing music this decade but the previous one was on a whole different level. Greater diversity too

It's true what they say, this band is the biggest grower. Especially this album.

Yes and I thought some other bands were growers...this has proven to be the growiest grower ever. Now I can’t stop listening to this album, even though I’ve moved on to High Violet at this point. Didn’t think it was gonna grow anymore at that point. I was wrong.

Man, I only liked the first half at first really, but now the 2nd half is becoming my favorite! The first half is fairly immediate (comparatively speaking), but the 2nd half is a hell of a grower.

This band is a hell of a grower. I've listened to the band from the time HV came out almost 9 years ago (I was seriously depressed then) and some songs are only just making sense now. I used to think Squalor was a weak point in the album. Man I was wrong

Start a War is fucking beautiful man. Becoming one of my favorite National songs (so far — still have three albums to go).

Green Gloves is so beautiful. Has a really wistful, nostalgic feel to it.

This just warms the heart. When the world gets you down this is always there to pick you back up. Sometimes I think it's their best.

"Gospel" is such a gorgeous closer. I never see it talked about.

I do love “Gospel” but I may be my least favorite National closer aside from the debut (and that includes IAETF). It’s a quiet and elegant piece for sure but it does lack some of the heft that their closers tend to have.

Interesting. I prefer it over Vanderlyle and SWB actually. The lyric "Darlin', can you tie my string? Killers are callin' on me" sung the second time in the chorus is one of my all-time favourite National moments. Last night the beauty of that moment just crashed into me. I'm still discovering moments like that on here.

Mr November, Lucky You and Hard to Find are their best closers. All the others are pretty lackluster to me.

Yeah Mr November and Gospel are definitely their strongest closers. Vanderlyle is a bit melodramatic for my taste (tho I can see why people love it).

Yeah I find Vanderlyle to be pretty zzzzz.
