if we include the b-side materials as well, then yes I think TDIU is stronger, you really can't beat Eve. but as a standalone LINE is the win for me. just incredibly solid work

Yep I’m fucking loving it. No fat on this bone. This one’s for everyone that thought Dusk droned on a little too much.

I really just wish We Were Never the Same wasn’t a single, I think it would’ve hit harder on first listen without having heard it a bunch… I really gotta just stop listening to singles at this point.

Fucking amazing stuff here man

Gilded cage feels like the weakest track

Right now I couldn’t pick a worst track here if you had a fucking gun to my head, definitely feels like it’s greater than the sum of its parts. The sequencing is goddamn flawless.

But gilded cage is the more experimental track of the album. Make me forget is impeccable

Yep, firing from the hip I’d say it’s pretty easily my favorite so far. But that could easily change with more listens. Like I said I don’t really think there’s a weak track here. The whole thing just flows so well that I have trouble picking out any single weak moment, let alone an entire song.

ive never really considered Converge a political band in the traditional sense, they are usually more introspective, but this has to be their most politically charged album ever right? i saw Jacob post something on socials a few weeks ago saying that stuff going on in the States was impacting people they know and love. nothing specific but i think we all know what he means. you can def get the anger and frustration with song titles like 'bad faith' and 'distract and divide' being quite pointed

@ShartHarder Exactly. Jake has always been pretty respectful and politically neutral as far as I can tell, but the ice stuff is probably getting to him hard.

I think the new album is great but I'm missing something there. Not sure if those 9 songs (can't really count "Beyond Repair") were worth an 8 year wait since Dusk.

my guy, these dudes are circling 50 years old, they probably have other shit to attend to. for a bunch of guys that age, they are absolutely feral on the more aggressive cuts

Loving the new one so far, easily my favorite since AWLWLB. It's so aggressive and I love it.
