The interlude after Out of Mana though

i was hopin if brand new put out some new shit on november 6, it would've had some kinda full version of that little interlude. i love that little tidbit to death.
Yeah skipping the opening narration is a bit of a hassle but whatever, it's atmospheric as shit so

nahhhhh usually i hate on sample interludes / skits but on this record the opening narration sets up the album so well; i cant imagine the album without it

My sentiments exactly. Most artists botch the whole spoken word thing so hard it almost ruins entire albums for me sometimes (looking at you Amenra) but it was done very tastefully on this one.

The seven years thing was a callback to previous albums, Daisy and TDAG notably. The seven repetitions could even be said to be a 70x7 reference which could even be linked back to YFW too, but obviously Limousine and Daisy’s self-titled track. If that’s a gripe, you haven’t heard enough Brand New. It’s kind of a wink and a nudge. No harm there. It’s not like it was a separate track which some bands do these days. That’s another reason I love this album. Yeah there are interludes but it’s just tacked on and not a placeholder. If you don’t like it then skip over, but fans love the references and interesting tidbits, especially when it’s a devoted fanbase like Brand New has.

"Hide your daughters the old men say, you were young once before, you know how we get out way"

*shudder*

Somebody needs to find out where he lives and give him a good old eggy house for that one.

So much for their perfect disbandment or whatever they were planning for next year. I haven't heard any updates about the upcoming tour or what the other band members have to say, but it's not looking good for this band's legacy so far.

My bet is they quietly dissolve. Jesse hates the spotlight even when it's positive attention. He's probably ashamed as hell too and won't want to show his face for a while. It's really unfortunate that things ended this way, although Lacey of course has no one to blame but himself. Part of me wants to wish that the allegations of misconduct would have held off for another year or two, especially given that the wrongdoings are apparently quite dated; however that's a terrible mindset and it's for entirely selfish reasons. I'm just glad it was brought to light and people are aware, and also that Jesse (sort of) owned up to it and didn't just deny it or attempt to sweep everything under the rug.

That's not a surprising thing for big fans of the band to think, can't say I haven't thought that way once or twice since the allegations came out. It'll be interesting to see how much of the audience there'll be at the concerts.

yeah i was admittedly bummed at the louis ck allegations for selfish reasons in that i love his comedy and dont want it to end but alas the reality is the reality and justice must be served, if that only means public ridicule well so be it

however i've always been a strong proponent of separating the art from the artist as much as one can (will vary by individual)
