honestly you can find videos that point to chino being hit/miss live his whole career, but every singer has off nights.
I can attest that he was on point both times i saw them as well, so i think chino is on his game more than he is off.

"but if you look it up you will see that SNW was entirely lead by Chino's vision and ideas and it turned out brilliantly"
SNW definitely had more of the shoegaze-y stuff Chino's known for, but it still was heavy enough (the ending of Beware, and songs like Riviere and Rats! seem more like Carpenter constributions). It also had that eerie eclectic side of theirs, which I'd say had a lot to do with Chi (rip man), and some of their best songwriting, not to mention their best produced album. It has all the goods about Deftones, bar probably Pink Cellphone.
Gore on the other hand lacks many of those qualities.

This album is pretty average unfortunately, especially coming off of KNY. SNW is still their best in my eyes!

^Nice avatar, Gravity X is a phenomenal album

SNW is indeed fantastic. The Far-esque production fits it really well imo

Chino's apparently half mexican and half chinese
So he knows how to build walls and jump over them.
Useful skills to have

As much as I miss their heavy days, Chino's melodies slay so hard on this album

This has grown on me, though the production is still subpar compared to Koi/White Pony/Saturday Night Wrist

visiting their disco and wow, prayers/triangles might be the best song i've heard from them
or it's top 5. hard to tell when all their songs sound the same.

Whole sentence is wrong.

the production becomes less of an issue if you turn the volume up enough that the drums are as loud as they are on other records. just means the guitars are deafening but I think that was the point. still could use a lot of edge though
