oh yeah agree big time lol, his hooks have always been kinda annoying to me but I've been able to overlook it since everything else is so great
idk i feel like How Much Does A Dollar Cost is out of place on this album, like its a great track but it just feels out of place to me for some reason idk why

Haven't listened in a while but iirc all signs point to he wrote it Acapulco first and then had them build around it because the verse changes tempo/time at really random places and it would be insanely difficult to do that after having the beat. Then again kendrick is kendrick so who knows

Have never dissected the lyrics/themes out of this album since every time I listen I just get so caught up in the incredible musical elements that I never even pay attention to the lyrics so can't really speak on that but I will say that the hma$c beat is a god beat to me. Still remember the first time I listened to the album when he brings in the strings during the poem and pulls them out right before the song starts -- literally begged him in those seconds between hearing that and the song starting for him to use that beat, so I'm happy as fuck it made the cut haha

I love mortal man bc it's one of the songs where kendrick really comes with bars, and this is an album where I feel he (intentionally) toned down the lyricism so that he could let the music really shine, so mortal man bringing it through like that is really a fantastic song to end on. And yeah the pac interview just takes it to another level

the beats on this are just ridiculous, yeah it blows me away
one of my absolute favorite parts of the whole album is when that fucking guitar motif shows up in King Kunta, love it
also really love the beat to momma, tied with hmadc as favorite beat on the album

see i feel like he reallllly took it to another level with that acapella verse on the end of i and mortal man doesn't quite measure up, but its still fucking great
