If you like the December Flower solo check the Dimension Zero EP, same guitarist that did the solos for that one

Yes I’ve been preaching Dead Eternity for years, I’ve always loved that song, lyrics are nice too even if some consider cheesy

This album as a whole just has a certain darkened, bleak-like feel that none of the other IF records have and that’s one of the reasons this has always reigned supreme for me in their catalogue

Agreed on that, the atmosphere on both here and to a lesser extent Lunar Strain really sets them apart in a way that's almost unmatched from the other albums, it's a big part on why I love them so much.

I think the lyrics are really great actually. And that guitar tone is so unique. This album feels ancient and futuristic to me at the same time.

I actually never paid attention to the lyrics on this album, but the general atmosphere just transports me to another planet
This is one of my faves in the genre, the melodic riffs just lift me

Dead Eternity was one of the first In Flames songs I ever heard. I was just infatuated with it before I even heard the rest of the album months later.

They played December Flower a few days ago for the first time since '96, and I believe the first time ever with both solos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anyZMdPJH8s

Yeah, they played both Stand Ablaze and December Flower, which they hadn't performed in ages, in the span of 2 years. Pretty damn cool. The only thing that's missing now is Dead Eternity

What the fuck, so lucky. I wish I could see them play all these older songs they never play anymore instead of them playing Behind Space for the hundredth time. Like I love Behind Space but it always felt like their token "we still play old songs guys" song for a while it just annoyed me. Fittingly the one time I had an opportunity to see them (which I didn't even go so it's no big deal really), that was the only pre-Reroute song they had on the setlist.

I will go see them again just to hear Dead Eternity if they ever resurrect that. Anders posted an old demo tape on his insta with that song on it the other day, reminiscing about how that was one of the first songs he learned when joining the band. here's hoping thats hinting at something
