Those are the only ones that I truly believe are full score. I have nothing against the others, but they ain't up to snuff their all 4-5

yeah go first three but i mean if you want to be one of the cool cats you can just go straight to vol 4
|
| |
how does vol 4 compare to first three? do any of them stand out sonically to other, do they all compare sonically or vice versa?

End all be all! It always has been the "one"

imo master of reality is the best sonically. vol 4 is really grimey and rough and it goes back in forth in production and theme. master of reality is just one straight groovy doom feeling all the way through
debut has more of a groovy bluesy feeling all the way through

this one is their most accessible, especially for someone who is asking which one they should listen to......war pigs, the t/t, planet caravan, iron man, fairies.......no contest man, you start right here
|
| |
vol 4 being grimey and rough appeals to me as a description but i guess i'm just jamming all in order, i need to finally rlly get into these guys

imagine initially hearing it back in 1970

on debut's title track- band has more tension in performance than i thought they would, drumming stands out hard for me, good stuff.
