I was guilty of attaching myself to the term grunge because I identified with it. I was a 'grunger' and what must be said is this.
In '92 there was no 'big four' if there was smashing pumpkins would've been in it.
Soundgarden were a rock band from Seattle with grunge associations. PJ and Nirvana were grunge. AIC were more metal but were thrown in with grunge cos of verse, loud chorus, verse and skag head dynamics.
'Real grunge' was Mudhoney and the sound of the Seattle underground that everyone appreciated. Neil Young, Dino Jr. it was all lumbered into the same pot.

Rooster brings them feels every frickin' time man. I find the Vietnam War fascinating, and knowing the story behind the song makes it even better.

Nice one, Zak. Love to see the appreciation for Mudhoney, they don't get talked about enough.
