Honestly though this took a forever to grow on me, had it at a 3 for like a year then it finally hit me and I've loved it ever since.

Agalloch is probably the first metal I got back into after giving it up for a couple years post-middle school. Good thing I had a break though cause my metal taste was pretty awful.

But yeah the atmosphere on this album is perfect.

Both vocal styles here take me out of it.

I can see the overrated criticism much more than just "this album sucks." It's pretty straightforward so if the sound doesn't really click with you I'd be surprised if that changed, Hawks's comments notwithstanding.

yeah "this album sucks" is a rough statement but i really am only put off by the vocals. usually i can enjoy an album if the vocals are meh but in this case the vocals are SO bad i can't ignore the issue. if this album were instrumental i'm sure i'd love it
