this (mpp) seems like the apex of animal collective's music. ever since sung tongs their music started to become more accessible until it eventually evolved into pop (this). and they pushed it ever-so-slightly-further with fall be kind, but what they've been hinting at for the new album suggests a retread of past ideas. i hope it's not some tasteless, druggy mess of an album.
