Waters' vox can definitely be more emotional but they'll never sound as 'nice' that's for sure.

Well that's why I repeat, I'm not saying I dislike Waters's vocals what I wanted to prove is that songwriting is more than just the lyrics. Vocals, instrumentation, etc all of that together is what comprises the songwriting and I think the only section in which Waters may be better than Gilmour is on lyrics

The Gilmour/Waters, Final Cut/Division Bell debate has always been on sputnik and I doubt it will have a conclusion but anyway
Floyd rules, that's a fact and we all agree with that p/

Here we go on this one too, this my least fave of the great Floyd albums, the songs are too radio friendly, give me something more dynamic, you are Floyd for Christ's sake,
Of course this is awesome, most other bands would kill to have their name attached to this, but I like my Floyd out there,

Oh c'mon man, again with the hate to radio-friendly stuff?, that comment sounded elitist as hell
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
don't see it as elitist at all, I called the album "great" and "Awesome" in the same post, every single person I have ever met has a copy of this, can you hear Another brick with out feeling alittle sappy. I think it is so popular and so revered like Zep II or a couple others that are so iconic they lost it for me, the album is great, especially Comfortably Numb, I would just pick about 7 other Floyd album to play before this

Yeah this is not my favorite Floyd either but I don't know, hating a song for being overplayed has never been a valid argument, at least for me, it's not the song's fault, it actually may be proof of the song's quality. It is like when people say the hate Bohemian Rhapsody cause it is too overplayed, I don't think it is fair

It is definitely the songs fault, is was made for the masses, to put asses in the seats, the business of selling records. maybe i'm cynical but sometimes songs are specifically made to make money, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I don't have to like it, that is what styx, journey, and bon jovi (who I like) are for, not Floyd.
OK, that sounded elitist LOL

Besides Another Brick in the Wall pt2 and Mother I actually think this is one of the less "commerical" Floyd album thanks to its lenght and many interludes
Every song on DSoTM is perfect for radio tho

probably so, time, money, but love Us And Them. HAs a special place for me though, was the first " album " I ever heard, blew my 5 year old mind, plus great flow to that album, except for the already mentioned songs, flows like one long piece,so won't bash it too bad, I know kind of contradictory, just could never get into the wall

I hear all of those on the radio constantly, especially hey you

Yeah but the album as a whole, there's a bigger percentage of DSoTM that's "radio-friendly" (100% I'd say)

How On the Run and The Great Gig in the Sky are radio-friendly?

Well maybe not 100%, but definitely bigger than The Wall's. Thing is, this is not even close to be the more accesible of Floyd's big albums, those are Dark Side and WyWH and by far I'd say
