I don't know much slowcore so I could be wrong but I heard it a bit in track 4

Alright, just finished - it's ok at least, I think once I relisten with the proper expectations I'll enjoy it more.

I see that the "math rock" and "post-hardcore" monikers get thrown around with this too, can't say those are styles I really enjoy all that much (though to be fair I've heard next to nothing from each) and overall I heard at least as much of that as I did post-rock.

Oh well, I'll have to find something else to write my paper to. Not giving up on this, just not going to return to it immediately.

Serious or not?

Fear not, this will probably be a case like Deathconsciousness which I was ready to 2.5 on first listen and now I love it.

I was a bit confused on my feelings towards it on my first listen as well. It takes awhile to grow and you have to be in the right mood/atmosphere for it.

That was my second or third favorite on first go, at the very least that one was the best of the tracks with the more post-hardcore feel.

Don't go in looking for bits to take out. Shake yourself loose boney and turn it up loud.

When Nosferatu is the weakest song on an album you know you've got a 5 on your hands.

All the first four you listed are 5s in my book

I really didn't like those bottom two, both were 2-2.5/5 level songs, they'll have to grow a lot for me to love this.

This album is an insta 5 for me. Good Morning Captain instrumental pattern is so ridiculously unpredictable. It's a repetition, but it feels like a new variation every bars it passes. Also the climax at the end, just wow.

Part of me wants to not listen to this again so I can keep this rating just to piss people off.

Schmilco is better.

considering Wilco is the most useless band of all time I'd disagree
