It's an improvement over the original
Makes you wonder how a successful band so far in their career were unhappy with the results of their latest record

You can actually hear when Haake hits the low tom and bass drum at the same time. Can't remember the track (maybe Absymal Eye?) but the record definitely has better separation of sounds. A lot more nuance going on in these tracks that I didn't pick up on in the original release.

It's more clinical yeah, but it's louder and less immersive imho

"I guess the remaster will appeal to those who use Meshuggah as gym's music, which is not my case."
haha literally me
the tracks on the remaster hold their own a hell of a lot better against the rest of their discog now when listened to in playlist form... though i can for sure see preferring the og as a full album experience.

For me I'd consider the remaster to be what the band initially intended the album to sound like. It has an energy that I thought was missing from the OG release. It's also representative of how the band sounds live which I find to be a great thing. This remaster is probably the most bombastic they've sounded.

Woah only just hearing this now. The drums sound insane, the guitars a bit more grounded but fucking cool. Just pre-ordered the CD down here in Aus. Now I own both versions. I've said it several times in this thread but the OG never sounded right in headphones but great on speakers. This remaster sounds great in headphones.

x2 I think 98% of my meshuggah listening has been done in the gym. Also,
"After hearing the remaster i honestly thought about 5ing it lmao"
As I said, second best shug.
