Idk, I kinda like it as its own thing. I think not having it on the record was the right move, to me at least it just doesn’t really fit pacing wise or thematically. It’s one of their best songs ever, and I like it more than both the t/t and Thousands of Miles Between Us… those songs just fit better imo

I think the artwork and tracklisting for that new album are definitely fake. I would love new songs though, so I guess we’ll find out in 9 days when the supposed single drops according to the “leak”. That art is too shitty for a main Converge album. Jacob wouldn’t dare.



Edit: Jacob's substack from four days ago confirms he had three songs to go, and just finished recording the "main" vocals for the album while still working on the art.

There was this quote, and idk maybe I’m too trusting of random redditors but this doesn’t seem like something someone would lie about and Nate wouldn’t lie either… maybe he just meant the instrumentals were good to go? I don’t think Jacob is involved much in the songwriting process… at least not anymore. I remember reading that Kurt came to Jacob with the Murk and Marrow instrumental and was just like “sorry man I have no fucking clue how you’re gonna do vocals for this” lol, but that gave me the idea that Jacob pretty much just does artwork and vocals at this point.

I’m guessing Nate was just talking about the instrumentals because Jacob mentions listening to the new songs and still writing/editing lyrics. Completing “main vocals” implies they still need to track Nate/Kurt vocals too in my mind. Pretty wild to not be involvedq with the writing process when sometimes you have so much to say in lyrics that you need sections to repeat but I guess he’s gotta make the most with what he’s given so better make every word count lol

I think you’re spot on, but maybe he still does have some control over that kind of stuff… like who knows, maybe Wildlife was supposed to be a shorter barn burner like Cannibals or Broken By Light but Jacob wanted a chorus so they repeated some segments.



That song really is wild, I’ve can’t think of another entirely screamed chorus that’s that catchy.

I hope it’s good man. Dusk is to me the weakest (non blood moon) converge LP aside from caring and killing. It still absolutely has some heaters on it but the flow is all off. They teased they were considering re-recording some oldies while they were recording for this record…I commented “conduit?” And they liked it, so who knows what that means but I would fucking shit a brick if they did
