Agreed

Agreed hard. This is one of those albums were, even if doesn't have their signature sound, I can forgive it for it's amazing songwriting. I understand why people love Songs for the Deaf, or the quirky experimentation of Rated R. But this, I feel, is what both albums lacked at times - consistent songwriting. This is just captivating, all the way through.
And while I can understand why people prefer I Appear Missing, I have to give it to the last track. At least to me, personally. But both are the top 2 on the album.

talktothehead they haven't really stuck to a core sound, like the stoner rock roots, after SFTD though. Lullabies was more atmospheric and radio-friendly at times, then Era Vulgaris was this strange industrial rock sounding record that polarized their fanbase. After the bluesy sleaze of TCV, Homme returned with this: his brilliant but different sounding sensitive singer-songwriter album. I have no idea what they'll sound like with their new one, but I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

" then Era Vulgaris was this strange industrial rock sounding record"
disagreed hard with this, it just felt like a watered down version of their sound
