I will agree that the interludes could've been better but they do help sell the concept. The Requiem is actually a great mood setter, I wish the album did more stuff like it.
But most of the real songs are quite strong. Not the biggest fan of Robot Boy (so repetitive), Blackout (literally just weird but has some charm) and The Messenger (out of place). But the rest all range from good to great imo, with Waiting for The End and The Catalyst being the obvious highlights.

always thought wretches and kings was a really fun song even if it's a little out of place. really fun beat and maybe their most pure traditional rap song? never hear it mentioned much.

8 tracks in and only 3 are worth a crap on their own. Really shows that this was designed as a complete experience rather than a collection of songs. And I really like Requiem/Radiance as intros, wish the other short bits were as menacing as them.

Still think that this is the 3rd best after the first 2 albums but can't be listened too with The Messenger as the closer, I'll never understand why they decided to finish with it instead of Catalyst.

Yeah I saw them once on this tour, was indeed fantastic. Loved Chester banging on those drums during when they come for me.
I’ve actually seen them once or twice on every album tour, except for hybrid theory (didn’t really start liking them til Meteora came out). My favorite shows were the Meteora and Minutes to Midnight tours (M2M in Charlotte back when I still lived on the EC being my favorite LP show to this day).
Even saw them once the hunting party tour (with 30 seconds to mars, Blech). I even had tix to see them on the One More Light tour at the Hollywood bowl (was going to be my older daughter’s first concert, she was 10 at the time and loved LP — A Thousand Suns surprisingly being her favorite album of theirs). So, it was really messed up and no celebrity death affected me like that, aside from Cornell. As someone who has struggled with alcoholism/addiction and depression my entire life (no suicidal thoughts since I got sober 15 months ago), I connected so deeply and intensely to both of them and their lyrics.
I did end up going to his Memorial show at the hwood bowl and it was incredible. Oli on Crawling was the fucking highlight for sure. Sadly only was able to get one ticket so daughter didn’t go. I even drove down to Chester’s house in Rancho Palos Verdes to leave a card and some flowers. A bunch of fans were doing it. There was so much artwork, flowers, cards, souvenirs etc outside his house. I remember his wife and Mike posted on twitter how they appreciated it all so much. Funny enough, a few years later, I was waiting tables at a CPK in Studio City and Shinoda was a regular with his family. Used to wait on them all the time.
Long story made short, good album.
And I honestly think The Messenger closes it out perfectly. Ending on The Catalyst feels…abrupt to me.
