Maybe it's because I never listened to this band growing up, but this album is a much more enjoyable listen for me than Focus. More accessible, focused (lol), and I prefer Paul's breathy, almost falsetto vocals on this album than the overly done robot vox and forced dm screams on Focus.

I don't know why, but when I think about describing this album, the first word that comes to mind is 'crisp.' It's technically brilliant, as there is no sloppiness to the recording at all, really. And even though it's a true prog/metal release, it hardly feels that way with the jazz influence in all of it.
