The Sex Pistols made an open attack on progressive rock out of sheer jealousy. They were subpar musicians than their

peers and didn't come close to the songwriting that a lot of classic punk had.



Then again, I don't believe you have to be a virtuoso to express yourself through an instrument, but I really hate the

outright disrespect of other respected musicians.

I can see where they were coming from. But yeah, don't bash other musicians just because they make more elaborate, complex and involved music. Especially when they are trying to portray a similar political message as well, such as PF were doing at the time with Animals.
