Genuinely impressive how you can make such bad production job twice in a row as the biggest metal band on the planet

The guitar hero rip is way more managable though

its actually incredible how garbage the original master of this sounds compared to the itunes remaster. they also cut out those unecessary dead seconds at every end of the songs.

There are two itunes remasters, actually. The one listed as the "official" version released on 2015 and then another remastered version, released on 2018. This last one is by far my favorite because it balances out the muddled parts of the original remaster. If anyone is interested I'll post it on your shoutbox.

Edit: Nevermind, I can see the 2018 version is listed as the "official" version on my country.

If DM came out in the 80’s, I genuinely think it would be held up in much higher regard. Like, I get its criticisms but a 3.2 feels way to low imo.

The production really drags down the score a lot. I want to rate this higher but I get a headache after a few songs if I listen to the original master.

All nightmare long is genuinely a top 10, maybe even top 5, tallica song. That descending sus chord part is really different for them too

That song is cool but, like most of the album for me, it’s way too bloated and goes on for 2 minutes longer than it should. If this came out in 91 and had that late 80’s tone it would def be better but it would still be hurt by the songwriting

I dig this one. The songs, for the most part, are pretty strong. That Was Just Your Life, The Day That Never Comes, Nightmare, Suicide & Redemption, My Apocalypse, and even UIII are all very enjoyable. Production is terrible, vocals and drums too high in the mix. Would be a 4 for me if mixed properly.

That part in UIII where James screams "HOW CAN I FORGIVE ME!!!" and it goes into that huge guitar bend... man, it still gives me goosebumps to this day
