had a long convo about this in a chat a coupla weeks back actually, and it was kinda interesting - is a sput band 3D's definition, or a band that is hyped almost exclusively on Sput (a Sput-only band)? this is defs the former, but not q the latter
|
| |
here's the rym verdict and it's q frankly embarrassing

I always retroactively feel like I overrated this, but then I listen to it again.
Trying to formulate a makeshift list of my Top 100 or so favorite songs of all time (might never happen, tbh) and 'Bloodhail' is on there.

Hunter and Holy Fucking Shit would definitely in my top 100, if I made one.
"I always retroactively feel like I overrated this, but then I listen to it again."
Same actually, also because I rarely listen to the whole thing.

Trying to limit myself to one track per album, too, otherwise Earthmover might squeak in somewhere toward the bottom. But Bloodhail has a legitimate shot to place, like, Top 20 or so. Haven't actually made the list yet, nor have I even finished gathering all the potential candidates, but Bloodhail has confidently remained an all time favorite since the day I heard it.
It actually took a few listens for this album to click with me. Didn't get the underground hype back in 2008-09 (it had a huge vocal fanbase on /mu/ and I could never really get into it), but Bloodhail was the one song that instantly grabbed me and ultimately kept me coming back to the album every couple years until eventually it all sort of snapped into place.
