toe to toe maybe bc a lot of it is boring for sure. s/t to me sounds like it takes lots of queues from the most boring of the modern stuff, reminds me of the war on drugs (boring) diiv (boring except for latest album) wild nothing (boring) the overwhelming presence of neil also makes me wanna compare it to like deerhunter or something who is also just boring to me and yea idk i just think they can do better

Omg loveis I thought I was the only person who hears the slowcore throughout this, I have a pet theory that this is essentially slowcore songwriting just sped up a tiny bit on some tracks and with all the shoegaze reverb over top.
