OK so that remaster is indeed interesting. Don't know which version I prefer though.

Agree that it is interesting and can’t say which version i prefer yet

The drums are definitely…louder. The boys don’t have to drop another Nothing remaster every time they do this or anything, but I’m just not feeling the oomph and clarity that the Obzen remaster got

It’s all welcome as long as it makes them sound more monstrous than the originals
|
| |
Yeah i appreciate that perspective. You know as well as i do though that louder =/= more monstrous every time. Remaster isn’t unwelcome i just don’t really have a seat for it yet in the living room of my jams.
Why the different album cover also? This release is not different enough. At least on Obzen they just improved the sound and left the art alone. I do like the new art tho

ahh man i absolutely love the separation in the mix that the bass gets on the remaster. sounds fucking gnarly and i hope every djent band copies it going forward
(and bins the absolutely awful trend of every modern metalcore/djent band pitch shifting down an octave when they want to be "heavy" and sounding like mush as a result)
i wouldn't say its anywhere near their best sounding album (still not a huge fan of the drum sound but glad they pushed them up in the mix) but i think its def an improvement over the og

the extra space for the drums and bass is what puts the remaster above the original for me. TVSOR has their best prod imo but this is quite nice and was a welcome remaster

Dig these thoughts fellas, I’ll continue throwing it on when the shug mood strikes and hopefully it sticks over time

I hope these guys have a couple more albums in them because I HAVE to experience that live show again.

I feel like they'll definitely be around for a while longer. They're still going strong.

That fuzzy bass in the Indelible version melts my brain.

Anyone know where I can snag a digital copy of the remaster? I can't even order the CD from the Nuclear Blast US shop for some reason. I can use Amazon but without Unlimited it shuffles everything. I just want a non-compressed version I can download to my phone.

I'm tempted to fly to see them again this tour, I'm so fucking floored by that performance.

Need to hear that new remaster asap. Pretty intrigued

Yeah the remaster sounds a lot more like The Violent Sleep now, yet that one has better production still. Love how the bass is much more audible, and individual instruments have more space.
Still like the original Immutable too though; great tracks and record regardless.
Kaleidoscope is a personal fave.

Remaster is an interesting take for sure, but I'm still leaning towards the original.
Remaster sounds livelier, bombastic and has a wider soundstage, but at the same time it's less controlled and sensitively louder so it's less immersive, which is something I value a lot in Meshuggah's music. I guess the remaster will appeal to those who use Meshuggah as gym's music, which is not my case.
